Sven Goran Eriksson, the Notts County director of football, has gone back to former club Manchester City in a bid to recruit keeper Kasper Schmeichel.
The deal for the 22-year-old could be worth £1.5million.
Despite having a long-term contract, the son of Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has spent most of the past three seasons on loan at various clubs.
